As little brother to the large Fletcher Capstan Table, the Fletcher Rising & Furling Table achieves many of the same functions, but also raises and lowers. It was designed to address the need for a metamorphosing table for smaller dining areas, patios, balconies or yacht decks. It is made to an exacting marine specification, allowing permanent siting in an exposed position if needs be.
This table is composed of a small diameter top under which expansion leaves hang like bats asleep. In this mode the piece is a an occasional table of a small diameter but, at the press of a mechanical valve or an electric button, the top rises to dining height and the expansion leaves are click-released from their hanging position. They are then swung out to form a much larger diameter, where they automatically lock into place.
